The video is clear and of good quality, even indoors. The microphone is quite capable of picking up nearby conversation. It’s worth paying the extra money for better quality (compared to cheaper watch cameras). There is an audio-only mode which gives you more recording time if you don’t need video. Aiming the camera on your wrist takes some practice, so I’m glad that there is a USB webcam mode, which allows you to view a live video feed on your computer to get the hang of it.
With a full battery and empty memory, the true maximum consecutive video recording time (in my experience) is 112 minutes (1h:52m), at which point the 8GB is filled. I also tested audio-only recording, which lasted 3.5 hours until the battery died.
The infrared night vision isn’t that great; it only illuminates objects that are 2-3 feet in front of the camera, which doesn’t really help me much.
If you need the watch to be waterproof, note that you won’t be able to record audio. The watch comes with a waterproof cap which prevents audio from being recorded.
The instructions are very poorly translated, but if you manage to decipher them, you’ll find that it’s pretty easy to use. The most important thing to know is: To put the watch in standby mode: Step 1. Hold C (top right button) for a couple seconds to turn the watch on. A blue and red light will appear, indicating that it is “loading”. Step 2. Wait until a blue light starts blinking. Step 3. Press C again while the blue light is blinking. The blue light will then stay on, indicating standby mode. (If you don’t press C the second time, the watch will just automatically go straight to video mode, which is convenient, but confusing at first.) From standby mode, you can record video, take photos, record audio, or connect USB as a webcam. Press A (top left button) to switch between modes, then press C to begin recording.
There are some minor problems: The second-hand of the watch creates an audible “tick, tick, tick” in the audio. (This can be avoided by pulling out the time adjustment knob, but of course that will stop the clock from keeping the correct time.) The tick is only a minor annoyance, and it doesn’t prevent you from hearing the recording environment.
The video seems to be saved with the incorrect aspect ratio. In actuality, the recordings are captured with a 4:3 aspect ratio. They are NOT widescreen videos. However, when I play it on my computer, the video is stretched incorrectly to 16:9 (the same way a wide-screen TV may stretch a 4:3 picture). Although some people won’t notice it, to me it looks ugly and unnatural. But it can be easily corrected using third-party software; for example, in VLC media player just press “A” to change aspect ratio during playback.
In photograph mode, the images are not any better than in video mode, but the pixels seem to be digitally scaled up. So, the pictures are OK, but they’re not genuinely hi-res photos.
There doesn’t seem to be any indication of when the battery is fully charged, so I don’t know how long it takes to charge.
Overall, I love this watch, and I’m glad I purchased it. I wear it all the time.

|Bought 2: One was good, the other bad,
I bought 2 of this watches. One was pretty good, nice image, clear sound, I can say “as advertised”. But the other one, identically, I can’t undestand why the audio doesn’t work…, well it works, but you have to be no more than 1 inch from the microphone’s hole in order to record the audio, anything futher, you won’t hear anything else but an ugly noise (this is bad for anyone who needs the audio record function). The manual which came with both watches I think it was written definitely by someone who doesn’t speak english at all. It’s almost impossible to undestand, so I had to guess how to use the 2 bottons provided for the watch features. The “cherry at the top of the cake” were the CD’s attached at the box (supose to be the driver). Well they were infested by a trojan virus and didn’t work, so I couldn’t set the correct “stamp time” in the video record (unless you can find the program “timewrite.exe” in the intenet, which for me was impossible). After all, this could be a nice toy, but definitely, not to use for professional purposes.
